Are Funeral Plans Regulated?

Yes. Since July 2022, prepaid funeral plans have been regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). This means providers must meet strict standards of conduct, and the money you pay into a plan is protected.

Only buy a funeral plan from an FCA-regulated provider. If the provider fails, your money may be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) — meaning you won't lose what you've paid in.
